our programsOur scholarship program, for minority and economically disadvantaged students of art, architecture, and design is implemented in collaboration with AIGA. The program directly addresses our aim to increase diversity in the creative professions and our vision of a more responsible and sustainable future. Scholarship recipients not only exhibit talent and need but also demonstrate a commitment to give back positively to the larger community through their work.
Our Help Kids Create mentoring program pairs creative professionals with disadvantaged high school youth to produce artistic collaborations that have a particular focus on social issues. All initiatives incorporate the creation of public service art projects by mentor/mentee teams – including publications; billboard, poster, or postcard campaigns; themed exhibitions; and/or public art projects. Help Kids Create provides hands-on real-world experiences and illustrates the career potential of art, architecture, and design, as well as the importance of the design/arts industries and the power of creative expression. At the same time, through Help Kids Create, we inspire the use of creativity to further awareness, dialog, and activism. In so doing, Help Kids Create facilitates learning through the creative experience, lays the foundation for further interest in creative fields, and helps to create a more engaged creative profession. |
Promoting professional practices sensitive to ecological and humane issues.
